Busselton Senior High School was established in 1958 and has served the community fantastically well for over fifty years. It has fine traditions established by the various student bodies over this time and a loyal and dedicated staff of teachers, student services and support staff.

It is the only government secondary school in the popular resort town of Busselton on Geographe Bay, located nearly three hours drive south of Perth in the Warren Blackwood Education District. To the south lies the burgeoning wine growing districts of Margaret River and Willyabrup, whilst to the west lies the surfing beaches of Yallingup and Smiths. During spring and early summer whale watching off Cape Naturaliste and Geographe Bay is popular with tourists and the area is also famous for its good fishing and the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere. Hospitality and tourism provide the main employment in the community and during the summer months in particular, the whole area comes alive as one of the premier holiday regions in the state.

Based on 2005 results the school is currently rated in the top 50 schools for TEE, WSA and VET courses. School improvement in academic performance is a major focus of the school across all years and the leadership team are constantly seeking new ways through the accountability process to advance the achievement of students.

An exciting feature of the school has been the establishment since 2007 of Year 8 Learning Teams which have significantly enhanced pastoral care delivery for these students and provided opportunities for changes and improvements in students' learning and teaching. Similarly, the school provides successful and exciting Vocational Education and Training programs in Food, Hospitality and Tourism; Manufacturing and Industry Studies; Business Studies, Marine and Outdoor Recreation Studies and Recreation Studies, along with a full TEE and non-TEE program.
