The Service Industries Studies course has been running for 10 years. This year we are running the course over 12 months offering a full Certificate I in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations). There is also an option for interested students to begin a Certificate II in Community Services (Childcare).
After completing this one year course most students will enter the workforce or TAFE studies. However, students who wish to continue will be able to access a Target course or another VET course at Year 12 level.
As you can see from the list of subjects below the core of the school work is still in the Hospitality area, but under an agreement with South West Regional College students can now gain extra qualifications which will increase not only their employability but also their chances of entering the TAFE course of their choice.
