This popular course provides students with extremely valuable skills and experience to pursue a very wide range of careers. It offers a pathway to employment and/or further training at TAFE (or even university at a later date) in a range of vocational areas.
Skills developed are suited to any work situation with students using the latest software and administration techniques. These skills can then be applied to any work environment. Students have the opportunity to gain experience in a range of industry areas through Structured Workplace Learning, thus leaving career options open whilst developing a sound skill base. Students take up work placement in diverse fields – from retail (fashion, surf-wear, pharmacy), office administration and record keeping, interior design, travel, teacher assistant, hairdressing, landscape design, graphic design, information technology and tourism, to front office reception. This enables students to tailor the course to best suit their own careers aspirations.
Students work towards Secondary Graduation and the Certificate II in Business Services BSB20101. This nationally recognised qualification will greatly enhance prospects for entry into a range of TAFE courses. Students exit this program with very good employment prospects, valuable life skills and a wealth of experience in the workplace. This gives them a very wide range of options for their future employment, study or training.
