School - Upper School Subjects
This course will provide students with important practical computing skills which can be used when seeking employment or furthering their education at TAFE. It is also invaluable as a life skill for tertiary-bound students and those whose future careers may incorporate the use of information and communication technologies.1AAIT-1
This unit focuses on personal information and communication technologies and using this technology to meet personal computing needs. It will include the study of how individuals use, and can be affected by information technology in their daily lives. Students will investigate computer systems available and determine the configuration needed to meet their personal needs. They will develop a range of knowledge and skills that will enable them to create information solutions to meet the needs of various audiences.
1BAIT-1
This unit focuses on community information and communication technologies. The emphasis is on using productivity and communications software commonly required in the operation of a small business or community organisation, such as a sporting club or community service group. Students will investigate small office networks and the peripheral devices required to use communication and graphics applications. They will also examine the impact of information technology solutions within the community.
